How to Decorate Your Home for Spring On a Budget

Who doesn’t love spring? It’s a fresh start, the days grow longer, and everyone starts to emerge from their winter hibernation. Whether you have a small budget, or no budget at all, here are 5 ways to easily create a fresh spring look for your home to match your mood:

  1. Fresh Flowers

Nothing says spring like fresh flowers all over your home! Flowers can be pretty pricey. However, if you want to get them cheap, that’s definitely possible! Check out the discounted fresh flowers at your local grocery store. Some of them are starting to droop, but if you do a little digging, you can often find perfectly good flowers for about three dollars! Or, if you really want to save money, go to your local Walmart or craft store and pick out some fake flowers. These are cheap and you can re-use these every year at no additional cost.

  1. Greenery

Similar to flowers, fresh greenery screams spring! If you’re lucky enough to have your trees blooming already, trim some fresh greenery and branches to add some life to your home. If you don’t have much blooming in your area, faux greenery is inexpensive and looks just like the real thing! Bonus: faux greenery will hold up much longer.

  1. Fruit

A bowl of lemons is a great way to add a colorful, fresh feel to your space. Next time you go to the grocery store, add a bag of lemons to your cart, place them into a bowl and voila! Also, if you’re having guests over, put a cute fruit tray out to add some color to your kitchen!

  1. Pillow Covers

Fancy pillows can put a dent in your wallet and take up a lot of space. Try getting a couple of standard size throw pillows-18×18 is a good size to start with, and order some spring pillow covers! You can find packs of 2 or 4 on Amazon for under $20. The best part is when spring is over, you can switch out the pillow covers for summer, winter, fall and any seasonal theme you choose!

  1. Color

Spring is arguably the most colorful season, so why not reflect that in your home? When adding color to your home, you can never go wrong with pairing colors that exist together in nature. For a fresh spring look, consider adding sky blues, lush greens, and cloud whites with pops of pastel pinks and purples.

The best way to ring in the spring season is by giving your home a warm-weather refresh-and you don’t need to spend your whole paycheck doing it. Try these 5 tips and your home will be spring-ified in no time! For more inspiration, check out TJC’s Pinterest board “Spring 2021 Trends“!
