By October, our garden center transforms into Nick’s Fall Fest. Our Fall Fest is a family friendly environment, offering free games, a free straw maze, photo opportunities, rides, pedal karts, an inflatable obstacle course, and stories from a giant talking pumpkin. No one likes a sad, wrinkly pumpkin adorning their front porch on Halloween. Check out these great tips to keep your carved pumpkin looking wickedly fresh….
Option 1: After carving, spray pumpkin with WD40, let dry for 24 hours. Another bonus of using WD-40 is that sprayed layer will prevent insects and other friendly creepy crawlers from swarming around the inside of your jack-o-lantern.
Option 2: Pat your freshly cut pumpkin dry and apply a thick coat of petroleum jelly! This technique will keep the most color on your pumpkin. It will also keep the pumpkin firm and moist.
